Kevin Mayall

Kevin and Emma
I'd like to introduce you to one of my awesome clients - Kevin Mayall. We've been 'together' for a few years now.

Kevin is a dynamic New Zealander who realised life was for living and discovered "how to" was not that hard…when you knew what the "how to" was. Internationally renowned speaker and personality profiler, Kevin specialises in the needs and management of Generation Y both in the education and corporate sector.
Synergy Design , along with Moonlighting Marketing, have developed some fantastic pieces of artwork for the Kevin Mayall brand that has been used throughout the world. We wanted to create something that was very flexible and would appeal to a wide variety of markets. Once we had created the brand it needed to be incorporated into 'age appropriate' artwork for each of his training programs.

We are proud to be associated with Kevin. He's is an absolute pleasure to work with, we have had some great times developing the perfect style that suits everything about Kevin. And of course look forward to doing a lot more with him.

Meet Rose

I was thinking about how much I love the new campaign run by Air New Zealand. Lovely, mis-understood Rico. It's proof just how well this type of marketing works. In fact, Synergy Design (that's me!) has done the exact same thing for a client a couple of years back and I believe she (my little character) is still going strong. I designed a young fashion conscience girl called Rose. Every now and then I would create a new outfit for her which kept the interest of her adored fans. She generated more followers which resulted in more revenue for my client. I also have to admit that I loved creating her and her look, name and developing her personality, she was a great ambassader for the company.

And here she is.

Kids Fashion Review Competitions

A lot of the competitions run by Kids Fashion Review had Synergy Design as a big influence behind the scenes. Developing the branding, writing manuals/terms and conditions, promotions, web development work and much much more. And all of it done for no fee, just to help a small company build great companies. We love to support small businesses grow, and these competitions help do that wonderfully.

The Great Kids Fashion Hunt:
This competition was a biggie! There was a lot for us here at Synergy Design to do. We needed to work out the logistics of the way the competition to work, we defined the rules for both the players and the hunters as well as all the design work of course!

Where do we stand on saving the planet?

A question was recently brought up about what Synergy Design & Print does to lower their impact on the environment especially in our industry, if they do anything at all!

Of course we do! And we thought we'd share it with you. We reduce our impact on the environment in several ways:
  1. We’re paperless! (As much as a business can be).
  2. We email all our invoices. Saving paper, ink, envelopes and reducing transportation pollutants.
  3. We do email newsletters. Instead of printing out over 100 double sided A4 sheets and posting them, we email our clients to let them know what we’ve been up to.
  4. We receive all our bank statements via email and supply them electronically with our end of year accounts (again electronically) to our accountants
  5. Emailing is my friend. All files sent to printers and clients, are emailed rather than saved to DVD or CD.
  6. All our archives are saved to a portable hard drive – reuseable. Instead of putting onto a DVD (which has an expiry date and will need to be thrown away).
  7. We work from offices at my family home. This helps reduce our carbon footprint, by avoiding transportation pollutants, fluro lights, extra water, power etc. And also gives me the opportunity to have my children with me at home.
  8. We work off laptops, the electricity to power a laptop is significantly lower than a desktop computer and screen.
  9. Synergy Print encourages clients to only purchase the amount of marketing that they will need ie To purchase 250 flyers instead of purchasing 500 for $50 more and then throwing the extra out. It simply is not worth paying the $50 for the waste it generates.
  10. We find alternatives for our clients to save both money AND the environment. We have a client who has recently developed their own skincare range. It was Synergy Design who came up with the concept of using glass bottles for the product and offering an ‘empties’ services to refill their customers bottles.
  11. Synergy has also just completed a full range of artwork for an eco company who provide bamboo cotton tees printed in organic vegetable ink. We fit the organic theme into the brand working with the printers to produce media that had little impact on the environment.
  12. And we have a nifty little message at the end of our emails that go something like this: Good planets are hard to find - please think of the environment before you print this email.

New Modeling Career?

I'm so dedicated I donated my preggie belly for the Bimpi website LOL!

I don't think I'll make a habit of using myself as the model, there was a lot of photoshop work that had to be done to it!

Moonlighting in the News!

Have a look at this wonderful article. Donna and Cindy from Moonlighting (our marketing partners www.marketing4u.co.nz) were featured in the Waikato Times. It talks about how, like many of us, run a house, raise our kids and still manage to run a successful business! It's a juggling act but we love that we can be there for our kids AND our clients! Well, done you two, hopefully you'll get a lot of nibbles from the article.

Waikato Business Awards

Synergy Design attended the Waikato Business Awards to support their fantastic clients HEET who were entering in the Not-for-Profit category. Our entry was discribed as top class and a great effort for their first year. Next year we will rock it!
